question about floss picks vs. flossing?
so are those floss picks, where the floss is attached on a little flosser thing, as effective as regular dental floss?
I do not believe they are as effective. When flossing, you are supposed to pull the floss tightly around the tooth forming a “c”. This ensures that the floss cleans the maximum amount of tooth surface especially at the gumline, where the toothbrush doesn’t get. That is hard to do with the floss pics.
So I believe that proper flossing does the best job at cleaning the tooth.
However, using the floss pic is better than not flossing at all.
