Anchor Pearl

Do you love this poem or what? What is it about, you think?
Shell Shock Venus, aborted at sea.
Her youthful uniform torn open and free.
Floating where the whirlpools swirl
Men came diving for her pearl.
They’d scour her surfaces,
She’d dredge up their deep.
In a chaotic universe, shallow and sweet.
And as the merman hurled
Woman went careening from the girl.
And no line of questioning
Could penetrate her nerve.
But something was tapping her reserve.
Ashes of innocence, splinters of dreams.
Her anger in residence, ripping the seams
And petrifying fast;
She anchored to that mast.
Through waves of ecstasy
They’d compromise
But something was lacking in her eyes…
Reptiles in water, a goddess in heat.
We dreamt of a daughter, Venus and me.
Floating where the whirlpools swirl
Men came diving for her pearl…
A small girl. She is lost at sea and taken in by mermaids, and only has ripped tattered shirt to remember the human world; and it haunts her every day. Ever since the day she was lost, men have came searching for her, that is 10 years, people!
They would come close to finding her, she would almost break through the mermaid city’s walls and find them, but it never happened. The sad part was she knew she was missing something, but not what she was missing. But her mother could see through the mermaids enchantment, and went careening to get to her daughter at any cost. It was death.
Venus is growing very impatient, and restless. At 14, she is now teased by the other mermaid children, who know of her roots even as she does not.
Posiden has an affair with Venus. She truly belives that the god loves her. But still she wonders, could something be missing? She almost forgot the emptyness….Posiden promised to help her find what was missing.
Venus became pregnant, and she was going to have a daughter. The searchers find a baby floating on the surface of the water…
And they find Venus’s pearl, for time flies in Atlantis
~This is my little story for the poem. Maybe not what you had in mind, but the best i could think of on short notice.~
